Junior Church, All Age Worship, Parties and More!

St Andrew’s Psalter Lane Church welcomes children and their families, and seek to include them in all that we do. In addition, we offer some activities specially for them:

Sunday Worship for Children

Our worship aims to be inclusive to all and children are most welcome to join us. We enjoy their noise, movement and contributions to our congregation.

There is a child friendly space in the main church. This is a relaxed area with cushions, toys and colouring where we hope that babies, toddlers and younger children will feel at home during worship.

For those that want to continue to participate in worship from a separate space, the sound is relayed into the lounge area, on the other side of glass doors.

At our main Sunday Morning 10:30am service we have a Junior Church. Children leave the service after the first hymn to a separate room for a stories, activities, crafts and games. A parent or carer is welcome to join them or, if they are aged 3-18, leave them with our DBS checked leaders if they prefer to remain in the service.

Every couple of months we have an All Age Worship Service, tailored to engage everyone in the church family, and the junior church will remain with the rest of the congregation. Check our church calendar for when the next All Age Worship will be.

Special Events

We run occasional special events for children such as pancake parties, Christmas craft afternoons and films.

Safeguarding

Child protection and safeguarding are subjects we take very seriously, and we follow guidelines set out by both the Diocese of Sheffield and the Sheffield Methodist District - see here.
